Meet Katie
Welcome!
A bit about my clinical philosophy:
Therapy is a process of discovery, recovery, and repair. Rooted in evidence-based psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral theories, my approach to therapy will help you increase insight and awareness to achieve lasting positive change. I strive to create a relaxed atmosphere where you will feel supported as you explore and discover your own unique path to a deeper understanding of yourself and your ways of being.
I believe that every person is born with a sacred self, an intuitive knowing of who and how we are. Internal and external conflicts and discord occur when we are out of alignment with our intuitive knowing. As we move through life disconnection from this innate knowledge creates painful internal dissonance, conflict, suffering, and disruption in our lives. Your past informs your present. Together, we will explore the genesis of your maladaptive habits, patterns, and coping skills so that you can make new and different choices that create lasting change.
My practice is firmly informed by the principles of Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size, and LGBTQIA+ affirmative, poly-affirmative, kink-affirmative.
